As many of us saw with this weekend's devastating fire in Salisbury – a huge, 9-alarm fire consumed a motel and several neighboring buildings – disaster strikes quickly and without warning. We encourage our customers to take precautions now that will keep you and your family safe.  Whether it's reviewing your insurance policy coverage or restocking your emergency preparedness kit, act now, don't delay!

Safety First

Fire Safety Tips

  • Make sure there are working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms on every level of your home and outside each bedroom.
  • Test smoke and carbon monoxide alarms monthly and change the batteries twice a year when we change our clocks
  • Create a home escape plan and hold practice fire drills, this is especially important for homes with children present.
  • If you must use a space heater for heat, make sure it is 3 feet away from anything flammable such as curtains, blankets or furniture.
  • Use flameless candles in your home. They look and smell like real candles without the risk!
  • Don't smoke, but if you must, please read this!
