Are You Equipped for Winter Weather with Mass Insurance?
For the most part, Massachusetts has seen a fairly mild winter. Though we finally did get quite a snowfall last month… we were starting to wonder where it was! Suddenly, we were reminded of how horrible snowy and icy commutes really are. If you are not careful driving in these weather conditions, you are sure to find yourself involved in an accident and filing an auto insurance claim. Luckily, your Mass insurance is reliable!
In order to avoid a wintery woe on the road this year, we have put together a few tips:
• Equip your car with: a shovel, snow brush, ice scraper, sweatshirts, tire chains, etc.
• Remember to never jam on your breaks while sliding on ice or snow. Slowly pump your breaks to come to a complete stop.
• Avoid using cruise control during winter weather.
• Keep a good amount of distance between you and the cars around you. The last thing you need is to slide into another vehicle by accident.
• Keep your windshield and mirrors clean from snow and dirt. It is also important that you brush off any extra snow on top of your vehicle.
• Keep an eye out for black ice.
• While going up a snowy or icy hill, NEVER break.
• If you can avoid it, do not come to a complete stop.
The best way to avoid an accident all together is to simply stay in! If it is possible, call out of work or even work from home. If this is not possible, it is important that you are at least properly covered with the proper Mass insurance.
With auto insurance in place, you will not have to worry about an unexpected accident putting a dent in your back account. Possible coverage includes: bodily injury liability, property damage liability, collision, comprehensive, uninsured and under-insured motorist coverage, and medical payments. If you have any questions or concerns about which policies are right for you, never hesitate to speak with us at Paul T. Murphy Insurance Agency, Inc.! We would be happy to help you choose.
